What your room shares
You can host or join without giving your name or email. VideokeGo assigns names such as “Guest 1” and stores the room number, members, queue and playback position so everyone sees the same song. People in your room can see reservations and who made them. The host can see which guests are connected. Site administrators can see room activity, including the current song and guest count.
A room invitation or QR code can include its password. Share it only with people you want to invite. The host can change the password, lock the room to new guests, remove a guest or end the room.
What stays on your device
A room cookie lets this browser access the room’s media. It lasts up to two hours and can be renewed while you use the room. A separate cookie keeps signed-in site administrators signed in.
The player saves room access details in your tab so a refresh can reconnect you. These can include the room password. It also stores display and background quality preferences in your browser. On a shared device, open Room and choose Leave as a guest or End room as the host. To remove saved cookies and preferences, clear site data for VideokeGo in your browser settings.
What the server keeps
Ending a room deletes its active room record. A room also expires after two hours without contact from its host. Expiration prevents access; the server clears expired room records when a new room is created.
The service uses network addresses to limit repeated attempts to create rooms, join them or sign in as an administrator. Server error logs can include the requesting address and the requested URL.
